FFA Attends Husker Harvest Days

On Wednesday, September 13, Leigh FFA attended Husker Harvest Days in Grand Island. Husker Harvest Days is large farm show in Grand Island where businesses can showcase some of their newest products to people all around Nebraska.

Members in attendance had the opportunity to see some big-name companies like Big Iron, Case IH, and Dekalb. They also were able to speak with college representatives about their ag programs like Southeast Community College and Northeast Community College.

These places often gave out free items like hats, buckets, and shirts if members could answer questions about what they learned from the companies.

While attending, the FFA members also helped out for a good cause. The chapter brought in cans of non-perishable food items to get in for free.

Ag teacher Mr. Bazata, who said he greatly enjoyed his time at Husker Harvest Days said, “They have a great beef brisket sandwich.”

“It was a great opportunity for FFA members to go out and see businesses and career paths that might interest them,” senior FFA member James Grotelueschen said. “The chapter had a good time looking at new equipment and other businesses.”
