Patriot Wrestling Starts Season in Winside
The Clarkson-Leigh wrestling team started off their season with a road trip to Winside for the opening quad of the season. They started off the night against High Plains, losing 12-48. Then faced off against Shelby, losing close 24-36. Then their last duel of the night against Winside, which they were able to take 24-17.
Head Patriot wrestling coach Tyler Reeves said, “This was a good beginning night of the season for us in Winside. Got our first matches of the year for everyone and first matches ever for some others. Our kids always compete hard no matter who’s on the team, and they started the season that way. I’m looking forward to a lot of growth from this group and for Morgan and Andrew to finish their careers with a bang.”
Rivera and Levi Anderson both finished the night undefeated, while Bunner went 2-1.
Senior Andrew Rivera said, “It was pretty cool. I thought we started the year on a good note.”
