Senior High Christmas Concert Is a Success!

The Leigh Junior and Senior High held their annual Christmas concert on December 15th.

The Junior High band started off the concert with an impressive sound, playing “Jingle Bells” and “Up On The Housetop.”

Then it was turned over to the Senior High who sang their two Christmas songs: “Little Drummer Boy” and “Mary, Mary.” The Junior High Choir went third and sang “Bells Of Christmas” and “Do You Hear What I Hear?”

The end of the concert was the Senior High Band, who played “Instant Christmas Concert” and “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas.” Lastly the Alumni Band joined them and ended the concert with “A Christmas Canon” and then played “Feliz Navidad” after that just for fun.

Choir and band teacher Mrs. Wemhoff said, “The program went really well! The students finally got the opportunity to showcase all the hard work they put in this semester. The two bands have grown in numbers this year, and they both worked really hard and improved an incredible amount already! I also challenged the choirs with more difficult pieces, and they really came together nicely!”

Senior Lilly Bunner said, “The choir has really improved since the start of the year. It was our first performance at a concert this year, and it was really fun to perform the songs that we sang.”

Freshman Blake Loseke said, “I think that the concert was a success. I really enjoyed being a part of the band, as well as being able to play in uniform. I also thought it was a unique experience to be able to play a couple of songs with the alumni band as well.”
