The Clarkson-Leigh Patriots football season is underway with a very large roster for this year’s squad!  39 players from freshman all the way to the senior class are participating in what is sure to be an exciting season, hoping to capitalize on last year’s state championship success!

Let’s meet the team:

The whopping 19 seniors include James Grotelueschen, Troy Graybill, Dylan Higby, Nathan Bahns, Morgan Bunner, Simon Wemhoff, Xander Ross, Jordan Noonan, Andrew Rivera, Christian Hamernik, Connor Jurgensen, Ryan Brichacek, Mic Sayers, Trey Steffensmeier, Isaac Baumert, Joey Steffensmeier, Jaden Stoklasa, Samuel Pocasangre, and Garrett Stodola.

Juniors include Korbin Lemburg, Jacob Koehn, and Otta Crecco.

The Sophomores consist of Luke Eisenmann, Kyle McMullin, Grant Hanel, Tucker Matthies, Corey Steffensmeier, Levi Gall, Coal Fernau, Wyatt Crosley, and Brett Wemhoff.

Rounding out the team are this year’s freshmen, including Wyatt Langhorst, Colton Steffensmeier, Blake Loseke, Ben Rodenberg, Landyn Guddeck, Jeryn Struebing, Cody Jedlicka, James Moore, and Levi Andersen.

Jim Clarkson is once again the head coach, with Matt Murren, Bob McEvoy, Eric Hays, Jarrod Bazata and Jorge Gomez as this year’s assistants.

The Clarkson-Leigh Patriots are playing in Class D1 this year and their schedule will consist of Exeter-Milligan-Friend, Pender, Bancroft Rosalie, Shelby-Rising City, Twin River, Cross County, and Madison.  The scheduled Homecoming game against Cedar Bluffs on September 29 has been canceled by Cedar Bluffs.

Their first game is an away game at Exeter-Milligan-Friend on Friday, August 25, 2023. It looks to be an exciting game against a top five-ranked opponent.
