2-PT Loss for JV FBall

The Clarkson-Leigh Patriots JV had a tough contest in Leigh against Central Valley on Monday night, September 18, losing a close game 20-22.

The Patriots struck first but were unable to convert on the 2-point attempt. Cedar Valley answered back and converted making it 6-8. The Patriots scored a quick touchdown and converted on their conversion, making it 14-8 at the half.

In the second half, Cedar Valley scored twice with a good conversion, making the score 14-22. The Patriots scored a little while later but failed to convert the 2-point attempt to tie the game. To close out the game, Cedar Valley recovered the onside and kneeled out the clock to take it in a close win.

Sophomore Brett Wemhoff said, “It was a very good learning experience and we had fun.”

Freshman Blake Loseke said, “We definitely played our kind of game. We marched the ball down the field on offense the way that we wanted to. We just made a few little mistakes that all together cost us the game. Looking to the future I think that was a good visual at where we are at and what we need to improve on.”

This loss put the Patriots JV at 2-2 on the season. Their next game is against Madison.
