Cyclones Pick Up First Win

On August 28th, the Highway 91 Cyclones played in a triangular against Tekamah Herman and Guardian Angel Central Catholic in Leigh. They beat Tekamah Herman with a final score of 8-7, giving them their first win of the season!

Unfortunately, later that evening, their luck ran out, as they lost to GACC in a landslide of 0-11.

The next day, August 29, they played another game against Blue River at David city and lost 7-15.

Sophomore Jocelyn Donnelly said, “During our triangular we definitely came together as a team to pull off our first win against Tekamah-Herman. This has given us so much confidence in our skills and abilities for our upcoming games. Our Blue River game was a tough game for us, but nothing we should hang our heads over. Overall I feel that we are improving and will continue to get better as a team.”

For the Tekamah-Herman game, Jordyn Ratzlaff got the pitching win. Offensively, Cassi Rayback led us with 2 hits and 1 RBI. Hannah Cech, Jordyn Ratzlaff, Reese Bruhn, Sydney Messerlie, Madi Compton and Reann Bruhn all had 1 hit as well for a total of 8.

During the GACC game, Ratzlaff ultimately took the pitching loss in this game, but Reann Bruhn did help on the mound for an inning. Offensively, Ratzlaff had the only hit.

For the Blue River game, offensively, Jordyn led us with 2 hits. Adding another hit each were Cassi Rayback, Hannah Cech, Grace Hansen, Jocelyn Donnelly, and Reann Bruhn.
