“Go Time” For Junior High Wrestlers
The Patriot junior high wrestling team recently completed an exciting season, competing in many meets in a short amount of time. Throughout this season the work has been put in across the board, whether they won or lost.
The JH wrestlers started their season by traveling to Newman Grove on November 20th, Howells-Dodge November 22nd, and Battle Creek December 2nd.
There were many first-place finishes at these meets, including Cooper Fehringer, Marco Sanchez, Jett Koehn, George Harrison, and Jack Brabec.
After these first meets, Leigh wrestler Bryce Tasa said, “The season has already had its ups and downs, but we've learned a lot as a group, and continue to get better as the season progresses”.
JH Wrestling Coach Mr. Jorge Gomez commented about the Battle Creek Invite: “This is by far the toughest tournament we go to. Our boys wrestled tough and gave it their best shot. I am very proud of all the boys that competed. It was a great group of kids to coach.”
The boys finished out their season in Schuyler on December 6. Seventh-grader Cooper Fehringer again placed first.
“I'd say this season went really well for the most part,” Fehringer said. “We had a lot of fun going to meets and competing. As a team we did really well for a lot of beginners”.
