Girls Golf 2023-2024

There is a total of 14 girls out for the Leigh Golf team, the biggest number in the history of Leigh girls’ golf. The girls will be competing in class C this year.

This year there are no seniors on the team. Rosie Guillen, Emily Stender, Alisyn Lich, Paige Kurpgeweit, Delaine Erwin, Ella Urban, Brianne Kuhr make up the Juniors.

The sophomores include Lexis Gleason, Sofia Hake, Sophie Morfield, Hadley Dloughy, Emilie Hajek, and Shaylee McAllister.

The only freshman out for the year is Halle Korth.

The coaches this year are Michelle Held, Lynn Morfield, and Bill Morris.

“We have 14 golfers this year so we have grown from last year. It has been a really smooth start because even with our new players they have attempted golf in Junior high P.E. so they knew what to do. We don't have anyone that has never touched a club before, it is going smoothly so far. We are excited to get this season started,” said Mrs. Held

“We have two weeks of practice under our belt, and we have more girls out for golf than ever before. Golf is a sport that lasts a lifetime, and I'm super excited for the season to start and to improve my golf skills,” said Junior Brianne Kuhr

The girls’ season begins with a triangular against Norfolk Catholic and Stanton on Tuesday, August 29th.
