Junior High Football Struggles with 1-5 Season

By: Morgan Bunner and Jacob Martensen, freshmen at Leigh High School

The junior high Clarkson-Leigh football team consisted of 18 players this year and ended 1-5 this season.

The Patriots were coached by Andrew Faltys and assisted by Bryan Becker, Tony Horacek, Jorge Gomez, and Jeff Korus.

Head coach Andrew Faltys said, “I thought the boys got better throughout the course of the year! We were a really young and inexperienced team, but we fought through adversity and played as hard as we could! I want to thank all the 8th graders and 7th graders who went out. I hope they all go at it again next year in hopes of getting better and accomplishing some great things!”

Seventh grader Luke Eisenmann said, “It was a big transition for us. We had a lot of games we could win. The season didn't turn out the way we had hoped, but I think as a team we all got better and we all had fun.”

The final scores are as follows:

Sept. 8: Clarkson-Leigh vs Stanton - 6-74

Sept. 21: Clarkson-Leigh vs Shelby - 18-54

Sept. 28: Clarkson-Leigh vs Madison - 54-16
