High School Wrestling Opens Season at Howells-Dodge
By: Leah Pinkston, a freshman at Leigh High School
On December 5, 2020, the Clarkson-Leigh wrestling team took a trip to Howells Dodge to compete in the tournament. Easily enough to say, the team themselves did a spectacular job at the invite and deserve to be congratulated for their first tournament of the season.
In the 106-lb bracket, Bryce Jurgensen placed 3rd, and Morgan Bunner finished 6th.
In the 132-lb bracket, freshman Dylan Higby finished 1st.
In the 138-lb bracket, Conner Jurgensen placed 7th.
In the 145-lb bracket, Jaden Stoklasa placed 3rd.
In the 170-lb bracket, Jackson Koehn secured 4th place.
In the 285-lb bracket, Andrew Rivera finished 6th.
Morgan Bunner, a freshman at Leigh High School, says, “I think we did really well as a team, even with losing some tough matches and winning some not-so-tough ones. But both of them help us get better as individuals and as a team.”
The wrestlers, determined as ever, hope that this tournament is just the beginning of a season of good fortune for the Clarkson-Leigh wrestling team.
