Patriot Wrestling Team Has A Full Last Few Weeks Before the End of the Season

The Patriot wrestlers have had a busy season this year competing at many different levels. As their season is coming closer to the end, the Patriots want to fit in as many meets as possible before Districts.
On Saturday, January 16, the Patriot Wrestling team headed to Cross County for a great day of wrestling. They competed against 15 other teams. The Patriots had many tough matches throughout the day but battled hard and finished in eighth place.
Individual Records for the Tournament:
Bryce Jurgensen: 3-2 (3rd); Morgan Bunner: 0-2 (3rd); Isaac Baumert: 0-5; James Grotelueschen: 1-3 (4th); Dylan Higby: 3-2 (5th); Jaden Stoklasa: 2-3; Nathan Bahns: 0-4; Jackson Koehn: 3-2 (5th); Andrew Rivera: 0-4
On Tuesday, January 19, the Patriot Wrestlers traveled to Guardian Angels Central Catholic for a quad. There were three other teams at this quad: Hartington Cedar Catholic, Scribner-Snyder, and Guardian Angels Central Catholic. The night started out a little rough for the Clarkson-Leigh wrestlers where they faced Guardian Angels Central Catholic. The score was 36-48. The second dual of the day went much better for the Patriots, where they defeated Hartington Cedar Catholic with a score of 42-21. The last dual of the night for the Patriots was another great win for the Patriot Wrestling Team. They defeated Scribner-Snyder with a score of 51-12.
“I thought we wrestled well at the duals, and the boys continue to get better every day as the season is getting closer to the end. I am excited to see how we finish the season,” said Head Coach Tyler Reeves.
On Saturday, January 23, the Patriots had another full day of wrestling at Neligh Oakdale. This tournament consisted of 22 other teams. The Patriots finished in 13th place. The Clarkson-Leigh Wrestlers had a great day of wrestling and even managed to have a few who placed.
Freshman Morgan Bunner said, “I thought we wrestled hard even though it was a tough tournament with tough competition for all of us. I think we did very well overall as a team.”

The Clarkson-Leigh Wrestling Team has Conference and Districts left this season and hopes to do well and move on to the state tournament!
