“Leigh Alum Cole Fischer Joins Leigh Administration”

After Mrs. Stephanie Petersen’s retirement in June, Leigh Community Schools welcomed a new superintendent to its ranks. Mr. Cole Fischer, a Leigh High School alum, is no stranger to the Leigh district or community.
After graduating from Leigh in 2006, Mr. Fischer attended Wayne State College where he also played football. He then worked at Creighton High School as a social studies teacher and girls basketball coach, but moved back home not long after to take a social studies teaching position at Howells-Dodge. He also coached boys’ basketball. He obtained his further education and started his administrative career as the principal of Howells-Dodge before returning back to his home ground here in Leigh this year as superintendent.
Mr. Fischer is married to LHS English teacher Justine Fischer, and they have three kids: Kashmir, Collins, and Keylen.
In his free time, he likes to do various activities related to sports or the outdoors. He says his favorite hobbies are golfing, playing fast-pitch softball, watching football, especially the Kansas City Chiefs, spending time with family and friends, and “helping my lovely wife with lots of projects.”
Mr. Cole Fischer says, “I am very excited to be a part of Leigh Community Schools and returning to my alma mater. I look forward to developing great relationships with all students and staff. I want LCS to have a culture of being the best in everything we do, whether it be academics, sports, fine arts, or even just in the way we carry ourselves. I look forward to bringing new ideas to the district and to make everyone's experience a positive one. BE THE BEST!”
We all look forward to what the school year will hold with our new superintendent and couldn’t be more excited that he has returned back to Leigh Community Schools. Good luck Mr. Fischer!
