Patriots Pummel the Pendragons
The undefeated Clarkson-Leigh Patriots pummeled the Pender Pendragons in three sets on September 7 in Clarkson.
Junior Izzy Hollatz said, “I thought that we took care of business against Pender. We communicated well and executed our plan, which led us to get the win!”
The JV started it off strong, taking both sets they played.
Next, the varsity came out swinging, taking the first set easily 25-3. The Patriots carried the momentum into the second set and won that one 25-9. The girls looked to end a dominant night early, and they did, taking the third set 25-7.
Chloe Hanel led the attack for the Patriots with 9 kills. Junior Izzy Hollatz had a great all-around game for the Patriots with 6 kills, 8 assists, 3 blocks and 6 aces. Senior Gracie Eisenmann also added 6 kills, while Brynn Settje led the team in digs with 11.
With that win over Pender, the Patriots continue their great start to the season, advancing to 10-0 on the year.
Assistant Coach Brianne Bachman said, “Pender was held to single digits the first two sets due to strong serving and aggressive attacks from the front row. It was fun to see the girls enjoying playing for each other as well as seeing all the varsity players get some time on the court. Once again another strong game by the Patriots and looking forward to continuing this momentum into next week!”
