FFA Week “A Fun Experience”

Senior Aubrie Hanna throws a bag in this year's cornhole tournament

The Leigh FFA chapter celebrated FFA week on the week of February 19-23.

Monday’s celebrations were PJ Day and the start of the highly anticipated cornhole tournament that was open to all 7-12 students and staff.

Tuesday was “Dress like a Farmer” for Elementary and “Dress like Mr. Bazata” for high school, and the second round of the Cornhole tournament during Patriot Period.

Wednesday was FFA Shirt Day and an Ag Kahoot game in the gym.  Thursday also was the championships of the cornhole tournament with Mr. Faltys and Mr. Fischer winning for the second year in a row.

Thursday was “Drive Your Tractor to School” Day, and on Friday, the FFA members cooked breakfast for all the teachers and handed out donuts to all students.

Senior FFA member James Grotelueschen said, “FFA week was a fun experience because the students got to dress up a couple days. There was a cornhole tournament that got the high school students involved. Another fun activity during the week was driving a tractor to school. It was neat to see all the different tractors that students drove.”

FFA President Jordan Noonan agreed.

“It was awesome to see everyone participate if that was in our cornhole tournament, driving a tractor to school, or getting breakfast in the morning,” he said. “It was a great week and I will definitely miss it next year!”
