Senior Spotlight: Quentin Mullenhoff

On December 8, 2007, proud parents Jason and Ashley Mullenhoff welcomed their first son, Quentin. Quentin has three younger siblings: Jurnee, 15; Lakin, 12; and Nixon, 9. His grandparents are Richard and Tricia Mullenhoff of Leigh, and Marvin and Chris Johnson of Grand Island.

Quentin has been involved in many activities throughout high school, including golf and basketball for 4 years, FFA for 3 years, and One-Act for 1 year. Outside of school, he is also involved in the Leigh Youth Advisory Committee and 4-H.

Quentin has many high school honors, including earning a spot on the A Honor Roll and the National Honor Society. He also received the MVP Award in basketball and golf while attending Palmas Academy. His proudest high school accomplishment is having a 4.2 GPA in his junior year. One highlight of Quentin’s high school years was the opportunity he had to attend school in Puerto Rico, where he experienced a new culture and made many new friendships.

Outside of school, Quentin works at Mullenhoff Farms Inc, gaining experience in agriculture and business operations. He also independently trades stocks and cryptocurrency, where he studies financial markets and investment strategies. In his spare time, he also enjoys golfing, working, attending Husker football games, and hanging out with friends.

In the future, he plans to attend the University of Nebraska and major in Business/Entrepreneurship. In 10 years, he sees himself owning a business and starting a family. His top three goals are to own and operate his own business, own a vacation home, and build a life that allows both success and time for family.

Quentin says he admires his parents most in his life because he has looked up to them his entire life, and they have shaped him into the person that he is now and who he hopes to become as an adult.

If he won the lottery, Quentin would plan to invest it. If he could travel anywhere in the world, he would go to Scotland to play golf at the Old Course in St. Andrews.

Some of Quentin’s favorite places he has visited include Dorado Beach and Bahia Beach in Puerto Rico, as well as Teeth of the Dog and Punta Espada in the Dominican Republic. He is also lucky to have visited many golf courses and sees golf as a lifelong hobby.

Three words Quentin would use to describe himself are respectful, driven, and efficient. His biggest pet peeves are when people don’t put in effort. His favorites are the song “Stay Awhile” by Treaty Oak, the movie Happy Gilmore, the Huskers, and Chick-fil-A or Mahogany Prime Steakhouse. His favorite class in school is weights class.

One of Quentin’s favorite high school memories is enjoying the Caribbean weather while attending school in Puerto Rico. He says his most embarrassing memory is when he transferred back to Leigh during his freshman year and missed all the class preparation for the FFA creed, then had to say it in front of a crowd without being ready.

His advice to underclassmen is to make every moment worthwhile, because time flies by fast.

Congratulations, Quentin!
