Senior Spotlight: George Waterman

On April 24, 2008, this week’s senior, George Louis Waterman, was born in Norfolk, Nebraska. He is the son of Henry and Pam Waterman.

He has one sister, Emily, who is a sophomore in high school.

His family wouldn’t be complete without his pets, including his dog, Diesel, and his hamster, Fredrick.

Throughout high school, George has participated in track, JAG, and football.

Outside of school, George currently works at Roadrunner Iron and Metal in Monroe, Nebraska. His favorite hobby in his spare time is welding and building things out of wood.

His proudest moment of high school is getting “hitched” to The Brayden Loseke during class unity day his senior year. His other favorite high school memory is the time he ate chalk in the weight room for twenty bucks. He claims it is one of the dumbest things he has ever done.

George’s future plans are to join the Marines as soon as he graduates. Soon after that four-year term, he might renew his contract. If not, he plans to become a truck driver and go from coast to coast, living his life one mile at a time. In 10-15 years, George sees himself out of shape and driving cross country in his truck, playing Farming Simulator 26 in his down time.

If George won the lottery, he would buy himself a new transmission for his truck and then give the rest to a charity of some sort. If he could travel anywhere in the world, he would choose to go anywhere in the state of Montana.

George describes himself as someone muscular, somewhat funny, and who has a huge ego. His biggest pet peeve is procrastination.

Some things on George’s bucket list include getting his CDL, going skydiving, and living his retirement years in a log cabin on the mountainside.

There are many people who have gotten George to where he is today. One of those people George admires is Lexis Gleason. He says that she was the only person who was there for him when life went south. She kept him happy and made him feel like he was living his best life every day. He says, “Though she doesn’t come close to being a better friend than Riley VanDyke, I know I can always count on her when I need something.

Some other favorite things George enjoys include the TV show Real Steel and his favorite song “California Girls” by Katy Perry. His favorite sports team is the Texas Rattlers (PBR). His favorite food/restaurant is McDonald’s.

Finally, George’s advice to underclassmen is “Make sure you find time to take a weightlifting class with Mr. Cash in high school because it’s important to get buff.”
