Patriot Girls Golfers Continue to Improve

The Patriot Girls’ Golf team competed in their 4th and 5th golf meets of the year. They traveled to the Battle Creek Invite on Monday, September 16 and to the Stanton Duel on Tuesday, September 17.

After the Battle Creek Invite, coach Jay Knaak said, "The girls improved again for the 4th straight meet. Ashly Guliien shot the best 9-hole score of the year with a 63. All the girls improved on the second nine after learning the course. I am pleased with the improvement in their scoring and know it will continue as the year progresses."

Sophomore Cortlynn Cadwallader also had positive thoughts after their invite. She said, “We did really good. Every meet we go to we get better and that's all that matters, even if we don't place. The point is to have fun and enjoy what we are doing.

After another day of golf for the Patriots, they were challenged against Stanton and Elkhorn Valley. Coach Jay Knaak said, "The girls played fairly well in hot and windy conditions at Stanton on Tuesday. Our scores were not the best of the year but we are continuing to make strides in improving parts of our game. We are looking forward to the rest of the season and getting better day-by-day."

By the end of the day, Ashly Guillen was the low score for the Patriots with 73. Cortlynn Cadwallader followed with 83. Ashlynn Cropp had 90, and Hazel Mundt had 92.

Cortlynn Cadwallader said, “The Stanton invite was a surprise because another team showed up. It was also really fun and we all did great!!”

Good luck to the Patriot Girls’ Golf team on the rest of their season!
