FFA Junior Livestock Judging Team Qualifies for State!

                  Excited to be able to have a competition in person, on Thursday, January 28, the Leigh FFA Chapter traveled to Northeast Community College where they competed in a variety of different Career Development Events (CDEs). The Leigh FFA Chapter spent many weeks studying for these events and competed at their best.

Taya Hambleton, freshman who earned first place in junior livestock judging, said, “It was great to finally be able to have a competition in person, and I think we did fairly well. The Junior Livestock Judging Team did exceptionally well, punching a ticket to state.” 

 

Results from the events are as follows:      

 

                  Senior Livestock Judging—Jacob Eisenmann (6th place overall), Audie Tejkl, Riana Groteluschen (9th place overall), Nathan Bahns: 6th place

 

                  Junior Livestock Judging—Taya Hambleton (1st place overall), Dalton Zulkoski (11th place overall), James Groteluschen (12th place overall), Dylan Brabec, Dylan Higby, Jacob Martensen, Jordan Noonan: 2nd place and state qualifier

 

                  Agronomy—Kanyon Held (16th place overall), Jackson Mullenhoff, Jack Brabec, Mason Whitmore, Zane Williams: 7th place 

 

                  Ag Biotechnology- Jack Brabec (7th place overall), Isaac Rodenburg (10th place overall): 3rd place

 

                  Food Science—Natalie Brabec (2nd place overall), Justine Thompson (5th place overall), Carter Timm (14th place overall), Aiden Miller (15th place overall): 4th place  

 

                  Floriculture- Sydney Reeves, Makenna Held, Alissa Kasik, Korbee Wendt, Maddie Noonan: 11th place

 

                  Good Job to the Leigh FFA competitors and good luck to the Junior Livestock Judging Team as they advance to the state competition!
