FFA Members Experience New Agriculture Innovations at Husker Harvest Days!

Surrounded by corn fields, agriculture, and farmers from across Nebraska, 34 members from the Leigh FFA chapter traveled to Grand Island on September 10, 2025, to attend Husker Harvest Days.

For three days, Husker Harvest Days is open from September 9th, 10th, and 11th. Donating to a charitable organization, FFA members each brought five cans of non-perishable food items as their entry fee.

Anyone who attends Husker Harvest Days can attend live demonstrations, see the latest agricultural innovations, and attend educational programs led by industry professionals.

Members had the opportunity to go to different agriculture related businesses throughout the day. Ranging from farm equipment, livestock, car companies, and even the National Guard, a wide variety of businesses and organizations were present for all different interests.

Gathering free merchandise and talking to business owners all gave FFA members an experience centered around agriculture and opportunity. Big name companies like Case IH, Big Iron, Becks, Chevy, and Polaris were all present. Red Star, a hometown fertilizer company, was also there!

“I think we all had a fun time at Husker Harvest Days, and had fun walking around exploring new businesses. We learned a lot and got to meet some important people, which was pretty cool,” said junior Reann Bruhn.

Sophomore Cash Fehringer said, “I think we had a great day down in Grand Island. I hope that all kids get an opportunity to be able to go at least once because Husker Harvest Days will always be a memory of mine.”
