Senior Spotlight: Riana Grotelueschen

By: Kayden Schumacher, a senior at Leigh High School

On April 30, 2003, Mark and Mary Grotelueschen were blessed with their first child, Riana Grace Grotelueschen.

Riana was born in Norfolk, Nebraska. Riana has a younger brother, James, who is 15 years old. Riana also loves her border collie, Ace.

Riana has participated in a variety of extracurricular activities during her high school career. Riana has been involved in softball, One-Act play, and FFA for four years; and yearbook and journalism for three years.  She has been an active member on the Youth Advisory Council for two years.

To anyone who knows her, it is clear FFA is one of her greatest passions. Riana has contributed to the FFA program greatly, as she made the top ten in Livestock Judging all four years of high school. She was also a state qualifier for Livestock Judging.

Three words Riana would use to describe herself are sarcastic, blunt, and procrastinator. One of Riana’s biggest goals is to go skydiving. She also hopes that she is lucky enough to get the opportunity to travel. If Riana could travel anywhere in the world, she would travel to Santorini, Greece.

Riana’s favorite hobbies are to hang out with her friends, and she loves making memories with them. Her favorite subject in school is English. Riana’s favorite TV show is New Girl, and her favorite food is pasta.

Riana’s advice to underclassmen is “Don’t take anything for granted, and enjoy everything that high school and sports and activities bring to you.”

In 10 to 15 years, Riana sees herself married with her own house. Riana’s future plans are to attend Northwest Missouri State University, and she plans to major in Agricultural Education.

We wish Riana the best of luck with her future endeavors!
