Leigh Students Have HUGE Successes at NE State Fair!
Huge accomplishments and awards were brought back home to the Leigh FFA Chapter after this year’s Nebraska State Fair from August 28th through September 7th. Throughout 4-H, open class, and FFA many animals and exhibitors did their very best to represent where they are from.
Over 4-H weekend, the first weekend of the fair, there were many members from our community that represented Colfax County. The members that represented our school included Carmen Malena, Daphne Jedlicka, Brantley Went, and Cruz Malena.
The open class competitors included Briggs Klug, Cash Fehringer, and Cooper Fehringer.
Cody Jedlicka stated, “State fair is always a fun time with friends and family. Doing good in the ring with my project is something I always look forward to.”
The FFA representatives involved Carmen Malena, Cruz Malena, Cash Fehringer, Briggs Klug, Cody Jedlicka, Daphne Jedlicka, Kalyn Beller, and Brantley Went.
Carmen Malena, FFA President, commented that “Our FFA chapter and 4-H clubs had the best state fair as a whole that we ever had. We all excelled and competed at a very high level. State fair is always a fun time with our families and friends. With there being two weekends, we were able to go and show livestock that we have been working hard on all year and see how we placed within all the other competitors”.
With a very successful two weeks for all the kids representing our chapter well, it will be a very exciting year for what else is to come. Congratulations to everyone who showed these last two weeks and thank you for representing our FFA chapter to its best ability!
