FFA Keeps Busy with Land Judging and Annual “Feed the Farmer” Event
On October 7, 2026, Leigh FFA traveled to Scribner for the district land judging competition. The competitors were Caleb Settje, Blair Wietfeld, Grant Zabka, Jose Becceril, Ryan McMullin, Bryce Tasa, Cade Hosley, Lexie Bruhn, Ella Hansen, Grayson Loseke, Cruz Malena, and Aidan Ellsworth.
Grayson Loseke placed 27th and Cruz Malena placed 37th. Grayson Loseke said, “It was a tough competition. I am proud of how we did individually. It was a good day for everyone.”
Mrs. Haan commented, “Land Judging went well! We had a few of our kids place and earn ribbons. For my first competition as an advisor, I am super happy with! As a team, we were one away from going to state, so that was huge and super encouraging!”.
Then on October 13th, the chapter’s annual Feed the Farmer event was held at the Coop in Leigh as well as the 57 site. The officers and senior members helped with the meal. The meal consisted of burgers, chips, potato salad, beans, and a dessert.
Mrs. Haan stated, “Feed a Farmer went really well! We had a few hiccups but minor adjustments will be made for next year, so hopefully we can feed more farmers more efficiently!” Over about 150 meals were given to the farmers in the area!
