Patriots End Successful FB Season in 2nd Round of Playoffs

Going into the playoffs with a record of 6-2 and a district championship under their belts, the Patriots earned themselves a home playoff game against the Riverside Chargers. 

 

The Patriots came out hot, scoring 2 touchdowns in the first quarter along with a safety. Lance Paprocki and Eli Hays both reached the endzone while Carter Hanel and Lance Paprocki put in the two-point conversions. 

 

In the second quarter, the Patriots scored two more touchdowns while Riverside reached the endzone for the first time. Paprocki ran in both touchdowns while he and Isaak Wiese put in the two-point conversions. Riverside scored off a 30 yd pass but failed to put in the two-point conversion, making the score 34-6 Clarkson-Leigh going into halftime.

 

In the second half, the Patriots continued their offensive charge, scoring 3 more touchdowns while Riverside failed to score. Hanel, Paprocki, and Hays all reached the endzone with Paprocki, Hays, and Drew Beeson putting in the two-point conversions. 

 

At the final buzzer, the Patriots won the game 58-6 and advanced themselves to the second round of the playoffs.

 

In the second round, the Patriots traveled to Falls City to play the second-seed Falls City Sacred Heart, who had a record of 9-0. In the first quarter, Sacred Heart scored first off a 26-yd run, putting in the two-point conversion after. The Patriots answered back, reaching the endzone off a 21 yd pass from Lance Paprocki to Eli Hays. The Patriots failed to put the two-point conversion in making the score 8-6 Sacred Heart going into the second quarter. 

 

Though the first quarter was close, Sacred Heart unleashed their offense in the second quarter and never looked back.  In the second quarter, Sacred Heart scored two more times putting in both two-point conversions making the score 24-6 going into halftime. In the second half, Sacred Heart scored four more touchdowns putting in the two-point conversion for each touchdown. Sacred Heart won the game 56-6, advancing to the third round of the playoffs. 

 

The Patriots ended their season with a record of 7-3 and the title of district champs. 

 

They celebrate the success of this season and look to the future.  Clarkson-Leigh only graduates one senior, Isaak Wiese, and hopes to have several injured players back healthy next season.
