The East Husker Conference girls’ golf tournament was played at Indian Trails Country Club outside of Beemer on Saturday, September 26, 2020.
Clarkson-Leigh, Oakland-Craig, Pender/TC, Pender/TC JV, Stanton, and West Point-Beemer all had teams competing.
A team of five participants was required to compete in the team standings. With only four girls competing, the Patriots weren’t able to take part in the team competition, but they competed as individuals.
West-Point Beemer was the EHC team champions, shooting a 379 over 18 holes.
Clarkson Leigh had an individual accomplishment with Ashly Guillen placing 11th overall with a score of 113.
Kaitlyn Fehrer was right behind her with 114. Cortlynn Cadwallader shot 130, and Hazel Mundt finished with a score of 148.
“It was a great day to have a meet,” Cadwallader said. “We had missed the top ten medals by one. For the course being hard we all did our best.”
Coach Jayden Pokorney said the girls had a great time at the tournament.
“This was the first this year that they have been able to golf an 18-hole course for Conference, so that was pretty exciting,” Pokorney said. “Beemer has a beautiful course with a lot of trees and hills. We are used to playing that kind of game, but it’s different when you are spread out on a large course like that. I am proud of how all our golfers competed!”
