Golfers Finish Sixth at Battle Creek

Firing up the week, the varsity girls’ golf team traveled to Battle Creek on September 15, 2025. The Varsity team played in an 18-hole tournament that was very competitive.

Teams that were in attendance included Battle Creek, Clarkson-Leigh, West Point-Beemer, O’Neill, Norfolk JV, West Holt, Cedar Catholic, Crofton, Norfolk Catholic, Wayne, and Winnebago.

Shooting a 101, Emily Hajek took home 14th place! Not far behind, Hadley Dlouhy shot a 107 and Elizabeth Hoffman shot a 112! Overall, the team placed 6th out of 11 teams!

“The Battle Creek invite was a big success on Monday. Emilie Hajek ended up getting 14th place and the Patriots got 6th overall. I am very proud of the golf girls for taking on this difficult course and I can't wait for our next meet,” said Junior Halle Korth.

Coach Lynn Morfeld said, “It is always exciting to have a medalist at a meet, especially with the high caliber of teams participating. Our golfers seemed to keep their cool throughout the day and had some beautiful shots into the fairways, but we could definitely work on being more aggressive and accurate on the greens.”
