Leigh Golf Hosts First Home Meet
Leigh hosted the Club 91 Girls’ Golf Quad on Thursday, September 10th in Leigh. Kaycee Lange, Hannah Martensen, and Halle Korth competed for the Panthers on their home course against teams from Bancroft-Rosalie, Stanton, and Clarkson.
Senior Halle Korth led the team for Leigh, shooting 55 after 9 homes and finishing tied for 6th place individually. Martensen and Lange rounded out the Panther team, shooting 59 and 70 respectively.
Korth had some thoughts about the meet: “Our team made improvements, and we were pleased overall. Hannah golfed really great and I’m really proud of her for bettering her score from previous meets! I, myself, however, forgot how to golf and am not pleased with how I finished and am reconsidering my life choices because golf is an extremely frustrating game.”
The Panthers were not able to compete for the team scores, since they do not have a full team, but Bancroft-Rosalie finished first, Stanton second, and Clarkson third.
“It was great to have our first home meet and let the girls compete on their home course. I’m really proud of the progress they’ve made already this season, and it’s been fun to watch their confidence grow with each meet. They continue to work hard and support each other, and I’m excited to see where they go from here.”
