Girls’ Golf Takes on Battle Creek Invite
On September 14, the Leigh girl’s golf team competed in tough conditions of winds and rain at the 18-hole Battle Creek Invite.
Kaycee Lange earned a score of 145, Hannah Martensen finished with a score of 137, and Halle Korth led the team with a score of 108.
Coach Sydney Wemhoff said, “Battle Creek gave us some tough conditions with the wind, cold, and rain, but the girls did a great job of sticking with it for eighteen holes. Days like that aren't easy, but they’re great opportunities to learn how to stay focused and keep competing when things don't go your way.”
Lange had stated, “It was cold and rainy, but we still had fun and tried our best.” Despite the dreary weather, the high school girl’s golf team did outstanding in their meet, and I believe they'll continue on the season with their excellent skills and passion to defeat their opponents.”
