Patriots Play Complete Game in Road Win

The Clarkson-Leigh girls had a great game against the David City Scouts on December 14th.

The girls’ JV ended the game off 19-35 with another win.

The varsity team started off slow with the first quarter, finding themselves down by four, ending with a score of 7-11. The girls picked up the energy and had good defense in the second quarter to then make the score 17-15.

In the third quarter the girls did not slow down, and they scored 18 points in the third quarter. They ended the game off strongly with another 19 points in the fourth. Overall the girls ended the game winning 54-39.

Head Coach Matt Murren said, "It was a great night all around for the girls. Both varsity and JV teams were able to come out victorious and put together our best complete games at both levels.”

Senior Chloe Hanel finished the game with 32 points scored and Brynn Settje added another 12 points. Baylee Settje finished the game with 8 rebounds and 2 steals.

Matt Murren said, “Our defensive energy and aggression offensively was great to see and was what we really preached coming into the game. It was fun to see the smiles on their faces and the excitement on the court and bench!"

Sophomore Ava Kasik said, "As a team we came into that game with a different mentality and were ready to attack the rim.”
