Knights Defeat Patriot C Team
On December 18, the C-team girls basketball team hosted the Norfolk Catholic Knights.
The Patriots started off the first quarter slow on the defensive end off the court and
allowed the Knights to capitalize.
Coach Becca Hiatt said, “The girls worked hard. We got a lot of good looks, but shots
weren’t falling. Overall, we did a good job taking care of the ball but struggled rebounding, which
led to giving up second chance points.”
The Patriots continued to work offensively and took many shots, but unfortunately, they
weren't able to fall.
Norfolk Catholic ended up pulling away, beating the Patriots 39-11.
“We fought our hardest to try and win, but we struggled on things as a team such as
rebounding. It was still a good learning experience that we will apply everything we learned to
our future games,” said freshman Carmen Malena.
The girls now have a 1-2 record.
