Ms. Madison Cerv Joins Leigh Teaching Staff

By: Kennedy Settje, a senior at Leigh High School

Leigh Community School is full of new faces this year. One of these new faces is Ms. Madison Cerv. The staff and students are happy to have her as their new school counselor!

Ms. Cerv took the place of Mrs. Karen Hillen, long-time Leigh staff member, when Mrs. Hillen retired.

Before coming to be a guidance counselor in Leigh, Ms. Cerv worked as a social worker and with foster care.

Ms. Cerv grew up in Clarkson, NE. She graduated from Clarkson High School, as well as played sports for the Patriots. She attended Wayne State College to earn her Bachelor's Degree in human service counseling. She then furthered her education at Wayne and earned her Master’s Degree.

In her free time, Ms. Cerv enjoys spending time with her family, nieces, and her fiance, Craig.

Ms. Cerv is getting to know everyone and is excited to be a part of Leigh Community Schools this year. Her counselor office is even right next door to the art room, so she to work with her mom, Mrs. Ann Cerv, every morning!

“I am excited to be working back in the area, and getting to spend my days with such incredible students and staff here at Leigh!” Cerv said. “I am excited to be part of the Leigh teaching community! Go Patriots!”
