Eisenmann, Brabec, Clausen Win “Student of the Month”

Every month, the students in Leigh High School gather at an assembly to discover what three students are this month’s “Student of the Month.” This award is based on the votes of teachers that think which students have gone above and beyond on their schoolwork and extracurricular activities. This month’s “Student of the Month” winners are Luke Eisenmann, Sadie Brabec, and Averi Clausen.

Our first winner for “Student of the Month” was senior Luke Eisenmann. His parents are David and Kim Eisenmann. His grandparents are Kenny and Janet Eisenmann.

He participates in Football, FFA, FCCLA, FBLA, Band, YAC, One-Act, Journalism, and Speech. His favorite subject is English. Outside of school he likes to hang out with friends, fish, and play video games. Luke plans to go into Agriculture Education, but doesn't know what college.

Luke has won this award four times, and when asked about receiving this award he said, "It’s an honor to receive this award and it goes to show all of my hard work and time I’ve been putting into school and extracurriculars."

Teachers in the Leigh High School say, “Luke has a positive attitude all the time, works hard, and is fun to have in class. He really stepped up this summer as a leader of YAC and put a lot of work in writing grants for our youth community camp and organizing everything for our slow-pitch softball tournament.”

Our second winner for “Student of the Month” was sophomore Sadie Brabec. Her parents are Andy and April Brabec. Her grandparents are Charmayne Brabec and the late Gary Brabec, as well as Lucy Nathan and the late Larry Nathan.

Sadie participates in many extracurricular activities, including Volleyball, Basketball, FFA, One Act, Journalism, and Yearbook. Her favorite subject is Welding/ITE. Outside of school Sadie likes to ride horses, hang out with family and friends, and just be outdoors. Sadie isn’t sure about college just yet, but has thought of going to Wayne for one year and then finishing up by going to Northeast for Dental Hygienist.

This is Sadie's first time winning this award. When asked how she felt she said, “I am very honored to receive this award because it helps me see that the teachers actually see all of the kids' hard work and want to reward those behaviors.”

Teachers in the Leigh High School say, “Sadie is really developing into a leader - she always works hard in class, is fun to have in class, will go out of her way to help anyone who needs it, and is not scared of hard work. Just the other night after the volleyball game she stayed and asked the cleanup crew if they needed help, and then helped the whole time even though it wasn't her job. She is also really kind to younger elementary students!”

Our third winner for the “Student of the Month” was freshman, Averi Clausen. Her parents are Heath and Michelel Clausen.

Averi is also in many activities including Volleyball, Basketball, Track, FCCLA, YAC, Band, and One-Act. Her favorite subject is History and she would want to go to college for either law or teaching. She really enjoys doing her nails in her freetime.

This is her first time winning this award, and when asked about it she said, “It feels pretty good to win this award because the teachers notice that I'm trying to do my best in school.”

Her teachers said this about Averi winning the “Student of the Month” award: “Averi is always cheerful and has a fun energy in class. She has a smile on her face every day, and she does well in class and her extracurriculars. She has developed into a very hard-working student.”

Congratulations Luke, Sadie, and Averi!
