Girls Pick up Another Two Wins
The Varsity girls kept it rolling with two more wins to add to their record playing West Point-Beemer and on December 14 and playing Howells-Dodge on December 16.
Junior Brynn Settje stated, “We started off very strong in these two games, and we were really excited to get back to how we know we can play. We all get very excited when our teammates make a play and we cheer each other on, which makes everyone have fun.”
Against West Point-Beemer, the girls found themselves controlling every quarter, entering halftime leading 25-22. By the end of the game they had increased their lead to 10, finishing 53-43 against the Cadets.
Girls coach Matt Murren stated, "The girls were able to battle through some ups and downs in this game and just continued to play hard and make things happen. We were able to hit some big shots in the second half and made some key stops to allow us to get the win. It was great to keep momentum going forward from the win against David City earlier in the week.
On Saturday, the girls were at it again. A big third quarter helped seal the deal on this away game against the Howells-Dodge Jaguars, and the Patriots took the game 50-34 in the end.
For the Howells Dodge game Coach Murren stated, "It was great to see the energy and excitement on the court and bench throughout this game. The girls made numerous big plays and seeing the smiles and celebrations showed they were having fun. It was good to continue momentum and keep things moving forward."
