C Team Falls Short

On January 25th, 2024, the C team boys and girls basketball team played against West-Point-Beemer in Clarkson. The girls’ JV also played that night against Wayne. Everyone battled hard, but all 3 teams fell short of winning.
Coach Becca Hiatt said about the JV team, “After some time off due to weather and other teams not being able to play full JV games, the girls came out and played hard. We struggled handling their press, but once we got past the pressure, we were able to get good looks on offense. Defensively, we played with much more energy in the second half. It was good to get back on the court and get a full JV game in.”
The C team played against West Point Beemer. The girls came out and got some good looks on offense. Defensively, we were very physical but did struggle rebounding a little. We have one more game this season, so it will be good to get the chance to continue to improve.”
Both girls and boys played very hard and had a lot of defensive energy. They played their hardest and they all tried their best. Their shots wouldn’t fall, which makes it harder to get things going on offense.
The score for the girls’ C team was 9-25, while boys’ C team was 25-40, and the girls’ JV was 18-26.
Emersyn Urban, a freshman at Leigh High School, said, “Although we did not get the outcome we wanted, we were playing aggressively and had good looks towards the hoop.”
