Basketball Teams Take on Raiders
As the Patriot basketball team's season comes closer to the end, they continue to fight through every game. On Tuesday, February 11, the Patriots traveled to Logan View.
The night started off with the JV boys and girls. Unfortunately, both the boys and girls lost. No stats were available for these games.
Following the JV games was the girls' varsity. The girls played hard all throughout the game. The ending score was 54-26 with another win for the girls' varsity!
Senior, Reagan Settje said, “This game was really good for us. We were able to get back into playing how we like to play and really brought some great defensive energy!”
The girls had a great game on both ends of the court. Juniors Kayden Schumacher and Cassidy Hoffman led the team, scoring 11 and 10 points.
Head coach, Matt Murren said, “We came out and played a great first half. Our energy on the defensive end of the court got us going on the offensive side in transition and the girls did a great job running the floor. It was a great game played by everyone as we head into districts next week."
Following the girls’ varsity game, the boys’ varsity was ready to take the floor. The boys battled throughout the entire game, but it was not enough to pull off another Patriot win. The final score was 48-27.
Head coach, Jeff Bachman said, “We put out a good effort and played a solid defensive game, but we really struggled taking care of the ball. We had too many turnovers to beat a really good team like Logan View.”
