C Team VB Loses to Monarchs

The Patriot C volleyball team headed to David City on Monday, September 27, to battle the Aquinas Monarchs. The Monarchs and the Patriots both worked hard, but David City Aquinas pulled out the win over Clarkson-Leigh.
The C team lost to David City Aquinas in two sets. The score in the first set was 14-25. The second set was a little better with the score being 16-25.
Sophomore Phoebe Mayner led the team with 3 aces and 3 kills. Makenna Hake and Emma Gall both had 3 kills. Ella Urban and Brianne Kuhr each had 2 aces.
C team coach KC Hegemann said, “We couldn’t really get into much of a groove. When we could utilize their mistakes and go on a run, we’d miss a serve or make a hitting error. We didn’t control the things we can control.”
Ella Urban, a freshman at Leigh, said, “We didn't play the best that we could and made mistakes that we should not have but overall it was a learning experience.”
Despite the loss, this season so far has been going great for the C team! Their record is 6-3.
