Patriot Girls Pick Up Another Win!
Launch the media gallery 1 playerThe Clarkson-Leigh girls’ basketball girls are back in action. They recently played North Bend on January 8th and Tekamah-Herman January 10th.
The girls played hard but fell short against North Bend, the final score ending up being 37-54. The Patriot girls put the North Bend game behind them and came out on top against Tekamah- Herman, the final score was 57-44.
Junior basketball player Reese Wietfeld said, “Coming into the North Bend game, we knew it was going to be tough and that they were going to be physical. During the first half, we couldn't get shots to fall as we needed. During the second half, we stepped up our game and were able to shoot the basketball, and play better defense. In the end, we played hard and this game only made us better!
“Tekamah was a great game for our team!” Wietfeld continued. “We executed defensively and offensively. Our shots were falling and we made some great plays. Our press caused them to turn the ball over which allowed us to get easy layups. We started off the game very strong and continued to play like that the entire time. We were very proud of how we played!”
Senior basketball player Nevaeh Zulkoski said about the games, “We knew we were going to have to leave everything out on the court before going into the game versus North Bend. We fought hard, but in the end, they had made more shots. Our team had a positive response and came out with a great win against Tekamah-Herman. While playing the Tigers, we were having fun on the court and playing for each other.”
