Patriot BBB Concludes Season
After the Patriot boys finished their regular season games with a win against David City, they were ready to head into the post-season.
On Monday, February 23, the boys headed to Yutan to play Cedar Bluffs in the bunny bracket game of sub-districts. They knew they needed to win to keep playing.
The boys came out in the first half and were leading by 10 by halftime. Heading into the final half of the game, the boys knew they needed to keep their momentum going if they wanted to come out on top. The boys played a great game and got the win with a final score of 46-32.
After picking up a win the first night, the Patriots traveled back to Yutan to face off against the #1 Yutan Chieftains in Yutan on Tuesday, February 24.
The first quarter the boys had a great start and outscored the Chieftains with a score of 15-13. Coming into the second quarter, the boys had a slower start and were getting outscored with a score of 28-44 going into the half.
After half time the boys still struggled to score in the 3rd and 4th quarters. The score ended 39-77.
The boys officially ended their season with a 9-16 record.
Senior Kyle McMullin stated, “This was a very fun season. We improved a lot as a team throughout the season. I am proud of the improvements we made this year from previous seasons.”
Head Coach Jeff Bachman wrapped up the season by saying, “I was very proud of the growth we showed throughout the season. The guys showed up, worked hard, and were fun to be around. I truly enjoyed this season.”
