Boys C-Team 1-1
The Clarkson-Leigh Boys C-Team basketball season officially kicked off against the Humphrey-Lindsay Bulldogs. It was a good game to start off the season, considering they won 46-28. It was pretty cool to watch a young team be able to put up 46 points in a game. I’d say we have a pretty good-looking team of guys that can really put it together in every aspect of the game when they give it their all.
When asked about the game, Briggs Klug said, “It was a great opportunity to be able to just go play four quarters of pressure-free basketball. It makes it way more fun to be able to just go out and play ball with your team, especially when you put up so many points and get a win.”
Following the Bulldogs, the team unexpectedly added Norfolk Catholic to the January schedule. They took it as another opportunity to go play some basketball, but they weren’t able to come away with the win. Granted they lost 17-58, but you can’t win them all.
Coach Andrew Bachman said, “It was a tough team to play considering they had a very athletic, tall team. And even though we didn’t come away with a win, it’s good to get experience playing better teams because it’s going to benefit us more in the long run.”
The team is currently 1-1 so far this season. It’ll be interesting to see how this season turns out against such a tough schedule. If you have time to watch them on Monday nights, I would definitely look into it.
