LHS Celebrates FCCLA Week
Leigh High School celebrated National FCCLA week once again! February 9-13th, members, students, and school staff had fun with activities that celebrated FCCLA and Family and Consumer Sciences education.
FCCLA offers our students so many valuable experiences, helping them build communication skills, explore career interests, and develop abilities that prepare them for success both in and beyond the classroom. National FCCLA week offers a great way to celebrate FCCLA and to appreciate our amazing chapter advisor, Mrs. Megan Hillen, for all she does!
Throughout the week, a logo search took place where students received candy if they found an FCCLA logo hidden around the school. Elementary students were able to participate in a coloring contest. The FCCLA chapter provided donuts for high school students and teachers one morning! Lastly, chapter officers helped with fun Friday activities, which included facepainting, cupcake decorating, and games!
“We enjoyed celebrating FCCLA and appreciate everyone who joined us in this week’s festivities,” said Mrs. Megan Hillen, Chapter Advisor.
Chapter President, Elizabeth Hoffman, said, “FCCLA week is great for celebrating and spreading the word about all we do in this organization, and our members do a lot. This week, we put on the logo hunt throughout the school, elementary coloring contest, and wear your FCCLA shirt day. It was awesome to see so much support, and I am looking forward to the upcoming state conference at the end of March!”
This week is full of fun that promotes and appreciates FCCLA! We hope to see our FCCLA chapter continue to succeed in the future!
