FCCLA Chapter Promotes Family Togetherness
FCCLA got into the Christmas spirit on Sunday December 7th the FCCLA Family Christmas Party hosted in the Leigh elementary gym.
This was a great opportunity to spend time with the chapter’s FCCLA family by sharing a potluck meal and doing Christmas crafts.
Each member’s family had to provide a different dish for the meal. Junior High and Freshman were in charge of bringing a main dish. Sophomores brought sides and salads, and the seniors provided dessert.
After everyone enjoyed their delicious meal, the officers explained their craft. Members and their families joined in making a hot cocoa reindeer craft. The first step was to put the hot cocoa into a piping bag. Then, they had the option of different toppings which included chocolate chips, marshmallows, and candy cane pieces. Lastly, they added the eyes, nose, and antlers on the outside of their tied piping bag, making the cutest reindeer and Christmas decoration!
Chapter officer Madilyn Freudenburg said, “The FCCLA Family Christmas went very well! It was the perfect opportunity for FCCLA members and families to get together for the holiday. We had a great meal and did a fun activity.”
Chapter Advisor Megan Hillen said, “Family Christmas is always a great opportunity for our FCCLA family to celebrate the holiday. The chapter officers and I would like to thank all the families that took time to attend this event and share in the holiday spirit!”
