Leigh Panthers Secure Victory Over Omaha Nation
On October 9th, the traveling Leigh Panther football team handled business against the Omaha Nation Chieftains, with a strong win 54-0.
The Panthers focused on coming to Omaha Nation to get a good quality win on the road before a tough game coming up against Archangel Catholic.
Freshman Blair Wietfeld with 2 interceptions and a touchdown pass stated, “It was a very fun game and I am glad that the starters did their job so we could get some playing time.”
After a very strong first half by the Panthers putting up 48 points, the second half was slower with the Chieftains climbing towards the goal line multiple times but the whistle blew a bit too soon.
Assistant coach and defensive coordinator Mr. Cole Fischer was happy with the performance saying, “I was pleased how the fellas came out on both sides of the ball. It was good to see the defense getting stops and forcing turnovers!”
The Panther record after this win is 6-1.
