FCCLA Chapter Attends DLC Event
The Leigh FCCLA chapter got the opportunity to attend DLC at Central Community College in Columbus on October 12th.
The conference theme was “FCCLA is Out of this World.” Vylet Hollatz was our District Representative and spoke a few words during the opening session.
The keynote speaker was Becca Arkfeld from US92. She talked about her career path and how she got to where she is in her job. She then explained the pressure that high-schoolers go through when trying to find a career that is best fit for them. The FCCLA members in attendance got to learn more on how to take more chances and say yes to opportunities that are given to you.
The first rotational sessions included a presentation about sports medicine given by Michelle Holt, and a State Officer led presentation.
An interesting afternoon session included navigating your mental health by Mindy Muhle, and quilt block designs by Sara Moje.
Leigh FCCLA president, Emersyn Urban, said, “DLC was a great experience for all of the FCCLA members to have a refresher about what FCCLA is and what FCCLA all offers. We also were able to listen to great sessions and a great keynote speaker.”
