The Panthers are the Better Cats
The Leigh Panthers once again hit the grid iron for their homecoming game against the Winside Wildcats. They were fired up and ready to go, coming off of a 70-18 win against the Bancroft-Rosalie Panthers.
The game seemed to start pretty slow. The Panthers scored the first play of the game with Blake Loseke running it all the way for a touchdown. After that, the game started to slow down a little bit.
The Panthers only scored 28 points the first three quarters, but they shut out the Wildcats up until the fourth.
Junior starting linebacker Tyce Larson said, “We started hot scoring on the first play, but after that, we kind of went flat. At halftime we weren’t happy with our performance and strived to come out fired up in the second half. In the end, we took care of business. I look forward to being able to get better and better as we get closer to the playoffs.”
The final score was 36-6 Panthers at the end of the night. Head Coach Mr. Bazata said, “We played hard against a solid Winside team. We started out a little slow in the first half, but the boys responded well after halftime when we challenged them to play some hard Panther football. We came away with a well deserved win and we’ll keep moving forward.”
With the win against the Wildcats, the Panthers are now 5-1 on the season and are hungry for more.
